Logroño and La Rioja have a rich and varied gastronomy. With a Mediterranean influence, in La Rioja there are large farming plots which ensure fresh products daily.
The offer is great: traditional restaurants, signature cuisine, carveries, inns… and, of course, tapas bars.
There are several streets which are full of tapas bars, for example Laurel and Albornoz Streets, San Agustín Street, Laurel Side Street, San Juan Street and San Juan Side Street, Ollerías Street, El Carmen Street, Marqués de Vallejo Street and Portales Street, also known as “Senda de los Elefantes” (‘path of elephants’), where you will be able to find really varied food products in small portions, accompanied by, of course, good wines from Logroño wineries.
Do not leave Logroño without tasting its vegetables and garden products: vegetable stew, peppers, asparagus, artichokes, thistle or borage as well as potatoes in Riojan style, lamb chops grilled over vine shoots or very sweet desserts, such as “fardelejos”, marzipan or wine chocolates.
